So first mani of the year on the blog is my Christmas mani. My favorite red ever this one, from the Christmas 2009 collection. It is still available, but not part of the core collection. I say it again – I LOVE THIS! It is a very saturated red, this is two coats. I used my iPhone to take this picture, and it turned out ok – but I find that it is very up and down.
This is also one of my Top 20 polish favorites, check out my Top 20 page.
Coats: 1 coat OPI Nail Envy, 1 coat Orly Bonder, 2 coats OPI LRW, 1 coat Nubar Diamont and OPI Rapid Dry spray.
Light: Inside, Downlight.
Camera: iPhone 4.
A vampy color for the vampy season, perfect color for autum. In these pictures you see the vampyness in the first picture and the gorgeous shimmer in the second. The dent I have no idea how got there, it just got there. Too bad I didn’t notice it when just got there as I could have used my Orly Smudge Fixer. It is still unused and that is not a bad thing, but hoped to try it 🙂
Coats: 2 Orly Armor, 2 Vampy and 1 Nubar Diamont.
I have two polishes for someone of you guys to win! Orly Passion Fruit and Orly Velvet Rope. Why do I have these you ask? Well I have found out that when your collection grows you do some mistakes such as ordering the same polish twice (Velvet Rope) and you order dupes (Passion Fruit is a dupe for CC Electrical Coral and a lighter version of Orly OMG). Velvet Rope is BN, Passion Fruit is swatched.
To win do the following: Leave a comment on this post and let me know where you are from (city and country). Leave your email or a link to your blog address so I can contact you if you win. All readers are welcome to join. Competition ends 4. August and a winner will be contacted after that. Do you only want one, let me know in the comment.
I’m sorry that I haven’t got any pictures of the polishes. Check out Nailgal for swatches of the polishes.
As requested by avroys in the post about untrieds!
Am very sorry about my abscence, but life have once again gotten in the way of the swatching and have had no time to take any pictures or made any posts. Sorry, hope you my readers will be back 🙂
The Orly is an ok polish, like a poor mans option of Ruby Pumps (the ultimate red sparkle). In the bottle the sparkle looks silver, on the nail it becomes red – most likely because the base is red. And I needed 4 coats before it was opaque!
This is the first polish I tried Diamont on, love that it doesn’t pull the polish but I did have some problems with marks in the polish the day after I applied it. Will soon post a comparison post with SV and Diamont, putting them up against each other.
Hope the weather is nice where you are, here in eastern Norway we are having great summer weather at the moment 🙂
2 coats Orly Armor, 1 CND Stickey, 4 coats Glam, 1 coat Nubar Diamont.
