Package from Transdesign: OPI Remover, OPI Lincoln Park After Dark, Essie Smoking Hot, Essie Going Incognito, OPI A-Rose at Dawn…Broke by Noon
Anyone with a little love for nailpolish loves the sight of a Small Flat Rate Box! So this was my first this year, but not so exciting… The OPI removers was added without thinking and nothing I need. Should’ve got a OPI Nail Envy instead. The two OPI polishes were gifts for my mom and my sister (LPAD is her pedi colour). So only two for me this time – but the two I got are great, Essie is really stepping up their game and giving us some quite exciting polishes not all pink and reds. I like 🙂
They are still on my untrieds list, at the moment my nails are a nightmare as they peel and are weak. So am going to do something I never do, I’m buying the Nail Envy here in Norway as my nails need TLC soon! Will maybe try a before/after post about it as Nail Envy has worked wonders for me before. And with the Nail Envy maybe I’ll get back the nails I had around Christmas time 2009, that’s how I like my nails
Depend Cosmetics is a Swedish brand and is typically what you’d call a drug store brand. The bottles are very small, 5ml (0,17 fl.oz) and also equally inexpensive. No. 196 is not (as I can find) part of their core collection and was from their spring collection 2010. It is a similar green to OPI Who the Shrek are you?, but I don’t have that so check out Nailgal for some pictures of it.
The color is a bit darker in real life, but I’m still impressed by the picture my iPhone 3 managed to produce. As the bottles are very small the brush is also very small which makes it hard to work with. But formula is good and it’s only 2 coats 🙂
Coats: 1 coat OPI Nail Envy, 1 coat Orly Bonder, 2 coats Depend and 1 coat Nubar Diamont.
Light: Inside a car, overcast.
Camera: iPhone 3.
One of my favorite polishes of 2010. I found it on the counter at a hairdresser, and having wanted it for a long time I got it. The price was mad, and reminded me of why I seldom buy polishes here when I can get them from overseas.
It is from the fall collection, and part of the new more colorful (meaning less pink and red) road that Essie is taking – I like it. This muted green reminds me of army green. The shimmer is very subtle, so from afar and in this picture you can’t see it. This was my New Years mani, not very festive but it went well with my outfit and I had just bought it and had to try it! It was a very easy to apply, and very saturated – only two coats. Also taken with my iPhone camera, so not the best picture and maybe a bit lighter in the picture than in real life.
Coats: 1 coat OPI Nail Envy, 1 coat Orly Bonder, 2 coats SP, 1 coat Nubar Diamont and OPI Rapid Dry spray.
Light: Inside, Downlight.
Camera: iPhone 4.
Ahh, duochromes how I love thee. The duochrome in this polish is not the most visible, but the more I looked at it and the pictures the more I have to say it’s a duochrome. As it is neither green nor blue, but a great combination of my two favorite polish colors 🙂 Any color that looks like it belongs in a peacocks feathers is all right by me!
This is the last of my Sinfuls and so far my favorite to apply. This was not as runny and thin as the others and I found it was easy to apply. A person better at applying could’ve got away with only two coats.
Coats: 1 CND Stickey, 3 coats Sinful Gorgeous, 1 coat Nubar Diamont and 2 drops OPI Drip Dry drops.
Light: Daylight, overcast.
Duochromes rock! This particular one is from OPIs Canadian collection (fall 2004) and is gorgeous. It is a blue/green duo and does live up to its name as water from a glacier is green… In the top photos you see the green, the best picture I could get of the ‘duochromeness’ is the bottom one. I need more practice getting these sort of pictures right.
The polish was ok, a bit runny (as most old OPIs are) and therefore somewhat difficult to work with when you are used to the new more gloopy polishes.
Coats: 2 Orly Armor, 1 CND Stickey, 3 GBB and 1 Nubar Diamont.
Oh how I love thee DSM 🙂 This is one of my favorites of polishes to come out in 2009, and is in my top 20 of all time! The pictures came out slightly darker than it is in real life. Pictures are taken in overcast weather.
Misa is a great brand, with great wear and the more I try them the more impressed I get.
2 coats Orly Armor, 1 CND Stickey, 3 DSM and 1 Nubar Diamont.
Left to right: NYX Jungle, Sinful San Fransisco, Gorgeous, Purple Glitter, Fiji.
L to R: Sinful Pearl Harbor, Aruba Rythm, Glass Pink, California, Coco Diamond
All the polishes are from Cherry Culture and was only $2, cheap and cheerful! Have not tried any yet, my untried list has grown lately and have over 30 I still haven’t tried or swatched 🙂 Will post a list of them later, maybe I have some you want to see?
