Package from Transdesign: OPI Remover, OPI Lincoln Park After Dark, Essie Smoking Hot, Essie Going Incognito, OPI A-Rose at Dawn…Broke by Noon
Anyone with a little love for nailpolish loves the sight of a Small Flat Rate Box! So this was my first this year, but not so exciting… The OPI removers was added without thinking and nothing I need. Should’ve got a OPI Nail Envy instead. The two OPI polishes were gifts for my mom and my sister (LPAD is her pedi colour). So only two for me this time – but the two I got are great, Essie is really stepping up their game and giving us some quite exciting polishes not all pink and reds. I like 🙂
They are still on my untrieds list, at the moment my nails are a nightmare as they peel and are weak. So am going to do something I never do, I’m buying the Nail Envy here in Norway as my nails need TLC soon! Will maybe try a before/after post about it as Nail Envy has worked wonders for me before. And with the Nail Envy maybe I’ll get back the nails I had around Christmas time 2009, that’s how I like my nails
One of my favorite polishes of 2010. I found it on the counter at a hairdresser, and having wanted it for a long time I got it. The price was mad, and reminded me of why I seldom buy polishes here when I can get them from overseas.
It is from the fall collection, and part of the new more colorful (meaning less pink and red) road that Essie is taking – I like it. This muted green reminds me of army green. The shimmer is very subtle, so from afar and in this picture you can’t see it. This was my New Years mani, not very festive but it went well with my outfit and I had just bought it and had to try it! It was a very easy to apply, and very saturated – only two coats. Also taken with my iPhone camera, so not the best picture and maybe a bit lighter in the picture than in real life.
Coats: 1 coat OPI Nail Envy, 1 coat Orly Bonder, 2 coats SP, 1 coat Nubar Diamont and OPI Rapid Dry spray.
Light: Inside, Downlight.
Camera: iPhone 4.
Am not on a no-buy, but on a one package a month buy. January’s package came from TransDesign and was a mix between polishes, gifts and mini treatments.
L to R: OPI Lincoln Park in the Dark (gift for friend), OPI Mad as a Hatter and Abseloutely Alice, Essie Mint Candy Apple, Orly Glosser and Bonder (minis), OPI Thrill of Brazil (gift for my mom). And the bottom is a OPI Envy Express, mini treatments of OPI Nail Envy, Nail Maintanance and OPI Drip Dry drops.
The gorgeous glitter that is OPI Mad as a Hatter, from the January 2010 Alice in Wonderland collection.
The difference between an Orly mini and an OPI mini 🙂
I love this! It is one of my favorite polishes of all time and I now have the matching earrings 🙂 They are made with the polish (how I have no idea!) and is bought from the lovely Tracey of GingerKittyDesigns. You can find her store on Etsy.
Now onto why I love this. Blue is my favorite color and paired with the gorgeous glitter – the silver glitter layered in the blue polish gives it a depth. It is semi-smooth and with another topcoat it might have been even more shiny, and with better application it could’ve been perfect.
Coats: 2 Orly Armor, 3 coats SSN and 1 Nubar Diamont.
I have a lemming list where I write down all the polishes I want and refer to this whenever I’m buying polishes. I have had some good hauls lately and am now up to a total of 29 untried polishes. Not that much, but in percentage it’s about 35% of my stash!
Let me know if there are any you want to see as an NOTD.

I love this color! From my favorit color group purple comes this sexy Essie – far from their usual reds and sheers! It is part of the 2008 winter collection, all of the colors were dark, shimmery and beautiful! (NOTD pictures taken a couple of weeks ago, nails were shorter then).
The color is heavily pigmented, but due to my habit of dragging polish (not something you’d want to learn…) it took three coats to achieve opacity on the entire nail. But formula was ok and the skinny Essie brush is not to bad once you get used to it.
2 coats Orly Armour, 1 CND Stickey, 3 Essie SD, 1 SV.
I will let the pictures speak for themselves, these are some of my previous NOTDs (Nails of the Day). Some pictures are too big for the blog, not quite figured all out yet.
China Glaze Watermelon Rind, from the Summer Days collection 2009.
